Using catalytic reactions and the Fischer-Tropsch process, hydrogen and CO2 are converted into liquid synthetic fuels such as petrol, diesel or jet fuel. The result is a sustainable energy solution that can replace fossil fuels in the transport sector and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Nuclear to PTX<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The PtX technology that produces synthetic fuels faces challenges in meeting the demand with only solar and wind energy. Nuclear offers a reliable and clean power supply that is essential for the PtX process. By combining nuclear &#8216; with PtX technology, we can create synthetic fuels for the transport sector with lower emissions and less dependence on fossil fuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maersk&#8217;s Zero Carbon Center has produced a report which uncovers the possibility of using nuclear for synthetic fuel [1]. The potential of producing ammonia with electricity from MSR reactors instead of solar and wind has been investigated.
